For the next twenty years Beryl successfully operated her business and Dad worked his way into retirement at Drax Hall. One by one she watched as her children grew into young adults and move away into their own independent lives. Pearl and Phillip and Raymond went and settled in the USA. Elizabeth and Peter moved away to Kingston and eventually married there, Douglas would stay the longest with Beryl and Luke. But at the end of that period business conditions in Montego Bay had deteriorated until it hardly made sense anymore and mommy returned home just when Dad finished building their retirement home up in the hills. And so they moved one last time, now a much smaller family.
