Elizabeth was the first child born to Beryl & Luke, birthed in Kingston and growing up with Pearl and Phillip. Around this time I am very blurry, help! Beryl must have launched her first business then, a little shop that grew and certainly helped to provide. They moved several times in this period as they changed homes and business locations. Then Luke got a great job offer in St Ann where he would be closer to his family, where his perks included a home and services. This was the Richmond-Llandovery sugar estate, where he would live and work for the next 20 years. From that time on Luke would never live in Kingston again and essentially spent the rest of his life in the country. But I do believe Mommy returned to Kingston and operated a business there for a while, I seem to recall visiting her there as a small boy. But she was constantly in danger of being robbed or hurt and she was alone and far from her children and I think eventually she gave up on Kingston and came to settle down with Dad and her new family. Raymond was born, followed by Peter (myself) and Douglas. About this time there was a schism and we began to see less and less of Pearl and Phillip, for reasons I was never clear about or understood. It would be many more years before we came together again.
